Piing appointed to engage fans at Rugby League World Cup 2021

Piing have been appointed to provide mass fan engagement activations at the Rugby League World Cup 2021; entertaining stadiums of fans at all 61 men’s, women’s and wheelchair matches.
EVENT360, appointed to manage the sports presentations across the tournament’s venues, brought Piing on board to help them bring the tournament to life in an innovative and exciting way that reflects the core values of RLWC2021, while delivering an immersive experience for those watching in stadia and at home.
The pre-match ‘Cazoo Race’ game displayed on pitch-side screens has been branded for Rugby League World Cup 2021 principal sponsor, Cazoo, elevating the online car retailer’s brand reach and consumer engagement.
Gareth Langley, CEO of Piing, said: “Piing Games allow stadia fans to play games on the stadia big screen using their mobile as a controller. This creates an enhanced experience for fans, whilst simultaneously providing valuable brand interaction opportunities for partner brands like Cazoo.”
Tens of thousands of stadia fans can join the activation through their phone browser by simply entering a short web address. Thirty players are then selected to play the game on the big screen in front of the entire stadium. Everyone who enters is provided with a promotion link that can be used to collect data or drive traffic to the partner site.
